While passengers can bring vapes and e-cigarettes on board, they must pack them appropriately in carry-on luggage only. To prevent accidental activation, these devices should be carefully protected in a case or have their batteries removed and placed in individual cases or plastic bags to avoid short circuits.
Just as smoking cigarettes on an aircraft is prohibited, using vapes or e-cigarettes on a plane is not only dangerous but also a federal offense. The FAA urges manufacturers, retailers, and consumers of these products to familiarize themselves with and promote the rules for flying with vapes and e-cigarettes to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members.
