Vape devices and e-liquids cannot be legally sold to anyone under age 18 in the UK. Sellers caught providing vapes to the underage decoys face fines up to £2,500 under the council’s rules.
Council leader Rob Waltham said preventing teen vaping is a priority. “Selling vapes to children and teens is not acceptable and we will tackle this,” he stated.
Government Seeks Tighter Vape Age Checks
The undercover stings come as the UK government itself prepares stricter nationwide regulations on vape marketing and age verification. Rules could require more rigorous ID checks and limit youth-oriented promotions.
