Uzbekistan’s Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has approved the first reading of a bill aimed at banning electronic cigarettes. The bill also establishes penalties for offenses related to the illegal circulation of non-smoking tobacco products. Lawmakers cite the rising cases of illegal imports and use of these devices, particularly among young people, as the primary reason for drafting the legislation.
